Deadline for applications to UK dentistry courses is Wednesday 15th October.
By now, you should certainly have drafted a personal statement and hopefully you are just adding final touches. The Personal Statement should be a positive endorsement for your application that showcases your strengths and emphasises your enthusiasm for the profession.
Here are a few tips:
- Pay careful attention to the introduction, this should grab the readers attention and get them interested in you
- Do not rush to submit the PS at the last minute. Take your time over it and aim to produce several drafts
- Don’t fall into the trap of being the person who uses these boring old clichés; admissions tutors will switch off and not pay attention to the content that follows
- Do not waffle. 4000 characters is not a lot; conserve space by keeping to the point and expressing yourself in a succinct manner
